48 Ways to Wisdom #1 – for Refoel Yoel Ozer ben Chaya Malka

Dear Family and Friends –

Many of you have read the posts about our dear friends’ child, Refoel Yoel Ozer ben Chaya Malka who is in a coma after being hit by a reckless driver while coming out of his playgroup. The doctors are waiting for the swelling on his face and head to go down before they can assess the level of brain injury they may be dealing with. As a zechus for his refuah, we are asking people to take on learning the 48 Ways to Wisdom (based on a mishna in Avos) written by Rabbi Noah Weinberg (ZT”L). 48 is the numerical value of MOACH – in hebrew – the brain. May this learning be a zechus for a complete refuah for this precious little boy.

We will send out one of these links each day.

Please, please, please have in mind that it should be a merit for a complete refuah for Refoel Yoel Ozer ben Chaya Malka.

  1. Such a tragic story and such a cute little boy. I broke my ankle on Wednesday and as I sit here, I am realizing that I need to be thankful it is just a broken ankle. It could have been so much worse.

Between what you are going through with Benny and now this, all of us need to count our blessings daily and recognize the many, many things we take for granted.

Praying for complete healing for both Benny and this little boy as you both persevere this LONG, LONG road ahead. I’ve endured being in a coma. I was in a coma for 5 weeks from a massive brain aneurysm. The healing time is great when the brain can be almost inactive so I hope it is the same for this precious little boy. I made 100% recovery from my whole ordeal and I know others that have done the same from really tragic car accidents. I have another friend that was hit as he sat in the passenger seat of a car. He was T-boned on that side of the car right into him and he is fully recovered from a traumatic brain injury, a broken pelvis, his aorta in his heart was separated in the accident too so he was basically bleeding to death on arrival to the hospital. He is 100 % OK now after a lot of therapy and time. Praying for you guys!!

    • I love hearing from you. Your insight and wisdom and especially your care and concern. Thank you. We look forward to one day meeting you hopefully soon.
