Benny’s Background

Binyomin Chaim HaCohen Brecher, affectionately known as Benny or Zaida Ben, was born on November 14th, 2010. He is named after our beloved Zaida Ben Genauer ZT”L who was an incredibly wise and special tzaddik.

On April 7, 2012, the 2nd Seder night, we noticed that Benny had a lump between his left eye and ear. After 11 days of running from doctor to doctor, Benny was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer on April 20th, 2012.

Because of the nature of this disease, treatments are generally 16-18 months long and involve powerful therapies. B”H, great strides have been made in treating this disease in recent years and with Hashem’s help, Benny will come to a complete, side-effect free, recovery.

However, to achieve that goal requires a number of ingredients:

  1. The care of the best doctors in the world at treating his disease (many of whom are just a few miles from where we live)
  2. Many treatments – both tried and true and experimental
  3. The love and support of his immediate and extended family (who have been incredible already)
  4. The tefillos, ameins, brachos, tzedakka, chessed, torah, mitzvos… zechusim of every kind, from anyone in the world willing to dedicate them to Binyomin Chaim ben Faigie Sarah

Please join Team Benny and be a part of the refua shelaima min hashamayim (the complete healing from heaven) for this incredibly beautiful neshama!

  3. I am davening for Benny and giving his name for tehillim to all my friends. I am thinking of you and please let me know if there is anything I can do.

  4. Surely the zechuyos of your Zaidy, Ben Genauer, will protect his namesake. We continue to daven for Bennie every day and will keep him in our hearts as we try to generate more zechus for him!

  5. Since we heard the news, I have been saying my brochos out loud when my children are around so they can answer Amen. (thats quite a few Amens per bracha!) I didn’t want to upset them with the reason behind it, but in my heart, I know its for your little Benny’s refuah shelama b’karov! Even my little 3 year old says amen to each Bracha when I daven Birchos Hashachar…thank you for reaching out and allowing us all to be a part of this yeshua.

  6. I wish Benny a complete refuah shlaima and the chizuk from this website that you are giving to others is unbelievable, may Hashem grant your son a Refuah Shlaima and may he grow up to be a source of Nachas to all of you and his namesake

  8. Dear Faigie,
you may not remember me, but I used to babysit little Shmuel back in 2008. I was so happy to hear that you had another boy when I happened to be in Clifton last year when I was choosing a gown for my wedding. Just now I came across this website and wanted to support you and your family with my prayers for Benny. G-d is in total control of his situation and has a plan for his life.
Trust in the Him with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).
I will also ask my husband and my friends to pray for Benny and all of your family.
